Authored feature article, “Use Niche Communities to Nurture Online Networking” published in the December 2011 issue of Forummagazine on the benefits, challenges and pitfalls of niche communities. The article addressed lessons learned and advice when launching an online community including the need to address cultural, technology and social media challenges.
Social Media Best Practices Roadmap (Feature Article)
The AMAConnect community served as a best practices case study in developing branded, niche communities for associations. The presentation, “Best Practices Social Roadmap: How Organizations Use SharePoint and Online Communities,” was delivered in a webinar on the subject sponsored by Telligent.
Directed organization’s social media strategy including development of social media best practices, code of conduct, terms of use and community guidelines. Conducted organization-wide training sessions on community customer engagement, blog writing best practices, customer service response guidelines and content creation. Developed and developed social media presentations to key constituencies including Board of Directors and leadership councils, including measurement reporting and identification of actionable annual goals and objectives.
Created and manage organization’s Twitter account, @marketing_power including development of content schedule, monitoring and customer response best practices and Twitter campaigns.

Developed, implemented and hosted successful podcast series on social media. Podcast interviewees included recognized social media experts including David Meerman Scott, Geoff Livingston, Shel Israel, B.L. Ochman, Toby Bloomberg and Mack Collier. The podcast series resulted in more than 3,600 page views and 4,000+ downloads.
